![]() (Thanks, iPad!) And the iPhone? I’m still not sure how/why, but the mute switch on the side of the phone was engaged and if it vibrated to wake me, I never heard it rumbling on the night stand. For some reason, after rebooting, it simply forgot about the alarm. Turns out, the iPad decided to do an operating system update during the night. ![]() The iPhone and iPad were completely silent. ![]() Knowing I had a total of three(!!!) alarm clocks set, I slept like a baby.Īt 4:10 AM, my travel radio alarm started beeping. (When at home, I try to have my iPhone/iPad wake me first, because the alarm is very gradual and doesn’t disturb my wife.) Of course, I also set my travel radio’s alarm clock for 4:10, as a fail safe. Case in point…Įarlier this year, I had to catch an early flight and needed to wake up at 4:00 AM, so I scheduled my iPhone and iPad to alarm at 4:00. They’re too complicated with so many nighttime settings, alarm/alert volume levels, short battery life, etc. Simple answer: I don’t trust smart phones and tablets. I recently told a friend about this fear and he asked, “Why not just set the alarm on your phone?!” My fear of missing a flight may even border on paranoia–I’ll wake up multiple times during the night in a panic unless I feel completely at ease that there’s an alarm system in place to wake me no matter what. In fact, I’ll let you in on a little secret: I’m a nervous Nellie when I’m forced to break my sleep cycle to catch an early flight. It’s a rare occurrence when a flight, train, or even road trip allow me to wake up at my normal time, so I rely on an alarm clock. When I travel, it’s a completely different story… When I’m at home on my regular schedule, I trust my “internal chronometer” so much, I haven’t set an alarm in years. Regardless of when I doze off, I always wake up at the same time. ![]() ![]() The only thing missing is location-based reminders. It is free, has better smart lists, offers a plethora of features, and syncs across devices and apps. Microsoft To-Do seems like a better alternative. Pricing begins at $5.99 per month and unlocks features like tags, location-based reminders, color-coding, and recurring tasks. The free version is very limited with even basic features like recurring tasks missing. For web, i offers browser extensions/add-ons and smartwatch access for Apple Watch and Wear OS. A tall order to beat.Īny.do is available on all popular desktop and mobile platforms. The consumer version of the app is completely free, without ads. The app is available on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and web. Microsoft To-Do app requires a Microsoft account, which most of us have, thanks to Windows and Outlook. It becomes indispensable if you are using Office 365 suite of apps.īoth Any.do and Microsoft To-Do work with Zapier allowing a plethora of app integrations. To-Do integrates with other Microsoft apps like Outlook, Launcher (Android), Cortana, Planner, and even OneNote. Microsoft has Outlook, a power email and calendar management app used by users and companies worldwide. An event is for listing events like birthdays. A Calendar task is the same as any other Any.do list task. I use Google Calendar, and everything syncs nicely. Calendar and App IntegrationsĪny.do comes with a dedicated calendar tab that will sync with your phone’s default calendar app. There is a dedicated button for adding tags that are pretty colorful in nature and signify importance level or progress. That’s a time saver for people who like to record voice notes. You can also record an audio or video inside Any.do and attach it directly without opening or using any third-party app. So, you can add notes, subtasks (Microsoft calls it Steps), and share lists with others. I miss that feature in Microsoft’s To-Do app. You will never forget to pick something up on your way home. One cool trick is the ability to add location-based reminders. You can quickly assign the task to smart lists like Today or Someday. Any.do has picked up a thing or two from GTD system pioneered by David Allen. You can add a person, hashtag, reminder, and assign a list using the bottom bar while creating a task. Grocery list loads by default and it will suggest some common household items for you to add. Again, tap the ‘+’ icon to create lists and tasks. They are all housed under All Tasks list. Just four time-based lists: Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming, and Someday. There are no Important, Completed, or All lists. Tapping on a hashtag inside any task will list all tasks that might belong to any other list or group.Īny.do comes with far less smart lists than To-Do. A hidden trick is the hashtags (#keyword). There’s no OneDrive supported either.Īn interesting option is the ability to add Steps. Surprisingly, you can’t attach files from cloud storage. You can include additional notes and attach files at the bottom for further reference. Marking any task by hitting the star icon will add it to the Important smart list. Tap on the newly created task to further customize it. Inside the list, you can add tasks and add due dates, reminders, and set it to repeat. Noticed the smiley icon under the New list window? That’s for choosing an emoji. There is no way to upload a new photo yet and options are limited. You can type a name but more importantly, choose a color and a photo. Tap on the ‘+’ icon on the bottom-left corner to create a list in Microsoft To-Do app. I hope Microsoft To-Do adds hashtag supports soon. There is a separate tab for accessing tags at the top. Like To-Do, you have to go back and forth to switch lists.Īny.do follows the grid layout with a bottom bar where you can access Tasks, Calendar, and Settings. Enter a list to find more options on what you can do with that list and the tasks it contains. To its right is an box icon to add a list. There is the familiar ‘+’ icon at the bottom-left to create a new list. You’ll have to tap your profile picture to access Settings. Just a bunch of smart lists at the top and under them are the lists and groups that you created. Microsoft To-Do comes with no bottom or sidebar. We will try and uncover those aspects that are seldom talked about.īoth Any.do and Microsoft To-Do apps carry a polished and beautiful interface. While the basic function of any to-do app is clear, a lot is happening under the hood that can go amiss. So we will compare these two and understand their pros and cons in a better light. Any.do is another to-do app that holds a higher position in the popularity charts despite rising competition. I believe that acquiring Wunderlist must’ve helped to an extent. That said, Microsoft To-Do has quickly made a name for itself. Plenty of to-do list app options available on the App Store and Play Store are bound to confuse you. ![]() They’re based out of Chengdu, Sichuan and quickly became fan favourites with products like Kanas, Kanas Pro, KXXS, Starfield, Aria, Aria SE, Kato, Blessing2, A8, S8, etc. UPD: a compatibility chart for our filters VS current products. How do I cope with nausea and vomiting caused by a brain tumour?
![]() ![]() I may strap both with full radiation so they're out there turning enemies against each other for me, rather than trying to score the kills themselves. ![]() I'm willing to take a power hit in terms of ability use and versatility in exchange for Umbra running back-up. I'm also not sure whether syndicate effects can trigger off Umbra's actions. Umbra will never use melee, unless it's the only weapon equipped. Additionally, unless you plan to use his melee, don't bother. Most buffs don't affect things that use specter AI. I also don't think Umbra can take advantage of arcanes. 60+ is the level range that you'll need to remain in control of umbra to survive without dedicating all your mod slots for survival, which'll bork all his other functions. Umbra's passive isn't something you should really use as a permanent thing, due to his mediocre survivablity at best. With all this in mind, is this the right approach, are the other ways to improve Umbra Excalibur's survivability and viability as a worthy mech sidekick? I am not sure if Madurai for the damage boost, or Unairu for the armor, but I think the damage provides more potential to heal through combat, while the armor isn't adding much to the beefy amount stacked on already. This Vasca needs more Forma, but right now the build is Link Health, Link armor, Hunter Recovery, Maul, Fetch (this is iffy since corn mech has no loot magnets), Medi Pet Kit, Swipe, Sharpened Claws, Draining Bite, and Transfusion (might be better spent on another mod). Long term I'm going to install a stance mod, but the current build is Steel Charge, all three Umbral mods, Arrmored Agility, Gladiator Aegis and Resolve, Carnis Carapace, and Primed Vigor, with Arcane Grace and Guardian to enhance survival. I'm using Silva & Aegis Prime, and I'm hoping that the extra blocking capability is more worthwhile than Jaw Sword's ability to apply slash and viral or some other standard meta combo. Bigger, of course, than the potential futility of trying to make poor ol' Umbra relevant as a mech ally.Īdmittedly I don't like the feel of Burston Prime or Viper Wraith, so I'll be switching to the Telos guns, which I believe will increase damage output too. Other than the vault necramech taking down my kavat, this worked pretty well in my initial tests. So far I've come to Truth / Truth-modded weapons, loading exclusively health and armor, using arcanes for defense and restoration, and using a Vasca Kavat set up for health/armor and healing linkage. Given that Umbra and Companions don't loot, health orbs are out of the question, and likewise loot radius and radar mods seem to be wasted since the mech is contact-only looting. This can add a lot of tankiness for him.I've been trying to figure out how to make an Umbra build that maximizes sustainability on autopilot, so I can feasibly stay in-mech for 60+ level content.

That’s a simple Physics lesson to help you understand your RV’s electrical system a little better. That means that 5,160 watts flood the circuitry and because you only had 3,600 watts of power to use, the breaker tripped. Air Conditioner-120 volts X 20 amps=2,400 watts.Converter- 120 volts X 7 amps=840 watts.Refrigerator- 120 volts X 4 amps=480 watts.Hot Water Heater- 120 volts X 12 amps=1,440 watts.Let’s see if we know what is going to happen when you plug back in, and all of those appliances turn on at once. Once you unplugged your RV for traveling and then arrived at your destination, you plugged it back in. Say you had your RV plugged in at home with several electrical appliances turned on. If you have 30 amps of main service in your RV and 120-volts running into it, you will multiply those two numbers to get the number of watts. The watts are how much power your electricity has. Fires can occur when too much amperage overheats the wiring and melts the casing. So, the resistance to flow causes restriction that builds up heat as the current flows through the wiring. Pushing too many amps through underrated or smaller wire makes the wiring hot. How much amperage your system can handle depends on the length and size of the electrical wiring. ![]() Its much like the amount of water flow in your plumbing system. ![]() You could compare it to the water pressure in your plumbing. A volt essentially “pushes” the electricity through the wires of your electrical system. Here is a brief Physics lesson on amps, volts, and watts. So, what are amps, watts, and volts and how do you figure out what your maximum usage on the RV is? Read on. What’s great is that most of the electrical appliances have their electrical requirements on their labels such as the watts, volts, and amps. This system powers the air conditioners, the heating element of the hot water heater, microwave, the converter, wall receptacles, and all other accessories that require a 120-volt system to run. The 120-volt AC (alternating current) system is like the one in your permanent residence. For a motorized RV, the power is generated from batteries that are connected to the alternator exactly like your car. This current runs through the seven-way pin connector on a 5 th wheel or trailer. This 12-Volt system’s power comes from the chassis batteries that power the stop lights, turn signals, and exterior lights of the RV. To maintain the charge in these batteries, the RV has a converter just like a car that converts the 120 volts to 12 volts. This system consists of deep cycle batteries that provide power to all of the 12-volt lights, water pump, the circuit board for all of the appliances, slide outs, leveling jacks, and propane detector. Here is a little more information on them. There are two 12-volt systems and a house 120-volt electrical system. Some people will say that there are two electrical systems, but there are actually three. How Many Electrical Systems are on an RV?įirst, it’s critical to understand that an RV has more than one electrical system. ![]() ![]() Don’t worry! We’re going to discuss how to troubleshoot electrical problems in your RV so that you’ll know what to do next time. A refrigerator, working appliances, lights, and other machinery run on electricity and when electrical problems arise you need to know how to troubleshoot them. In light of these considerations, and for maximum clarity, I have added my copyright notice and the full text of the MIT license to every one of the source files in this repo.
![]() If your income is variable, average your last few months and err on the side of caution. This will give you a solid birds-eye view of where and how you spend.įirst, record the amount of your monthly paycheque after tax deductions. Try tracking your expenses in real-time and updating your budget on a daily or weekly basis. If you like to keep close tabs on every one of your hard-earned dollars, you’ll want a more hands-on approach to budgeting. There are a few different ways to create a budget, which depend on your goals and personal preferences. How to find a budgeting strategy that works for you You’re now sharing expenses with someone - time to budget as a couple You’re saving up for something specific and large (for instance, if you’re hearing wedding bells.) You buy a house, or your rent significantly changes You have (or are thinking about having) a kid You’re going back to school, or have just graduated from school You should probably get reacquainted with your financial picture in the following cases: (That promotion you got might mean you can bring your fluffy little bernedoodle home sooner!) Why? Because whenever your income or expenses change, your path to your life goals also change. That said, it’s extra wise to make a budget anytime you have a life change. There is literally no ‘bad’ time to take stock of what you’re earning, spending, and saving. In our not-so-humble opinion, we think anytime is a good time to make a budget. Giving you the tools to save up for something specificĪnd, just in case you need a tad more convincing, there’s this little nugget from Andrew Hallam’s timeless investment guide, Millionaire Teacher: people who create a budget and automate their savings, save twice as much as people who don't. Helping you feel in control of your spending Showing you where your paycheque goes every month Even someone who is wealthy can feel uncomfortable spending money if they don’t have a good grasp of their financial picture. In Shannon Lee Simmons’ highly readable book, Worry Free Money, the financial planner writes that “unless you know what you can afford, everything feels expensive.” Paying attention to how you spend gives you the security and freedom to pursue your goals, guilt free. Budgeting is a tool that you can whip out time and time again to bring order to that chaos. No matter where you are in life and what you have on the horizon, feelings of financial anxiety can (and often will) creep in. If you’re one of those rare humans who are naturally frugal and already adept at saving, creating a budget can reassure you that you’re on the right track. Creating a budget is a great way to build a lifestyle that allows you to get where you want to go, and a system that keeps you accountable to your plan. Maybe your values include being debt-free by age 30, or saving up enough to buy an irresistibly adorable bernedoodle. ![]() Put very simply, a budget is meant to do only two things: (A) Ensure you’re not accidentally going into the red, and (B) Align your spending with your values. So, let's go over the steps to getting your financial life in order and creating a budget that works for you. Think of it like Marie Kondo’ing your finances-something you can do today to help quell your money anxieties and you know, spark more joy in your life. If you want to keep buying jojoba beard oil, go right ahead! A budget’s job is to help you organize your finances so that you can do more of what you want to do in life and stop having nightmares about never ending credit card statements. But it doesn't have to be that way! In fact, the purpose of a budget is not to make you feel bad about the way you spend your money. ![]() The term “budgeting” can be a bit scary because it conjures up images of 10-tabbed excel spreadsheets designed to make you feel guilty about every dollar you're spending. So, we created our own template that’s easy to fill out and gives you a bird’s-eye view of your finances. But, after scouring the internet, it’s clear there aren’t that many templates out there that actually work. |
